Configuring Payment Receipts

This article explains how to configure payment receipts in Prommt — whether to send them and which template to use.

Go to Settings → Receipts in your Prommt dashboard.


⚙️ Settings explained

Enable Receipts

Controls whether payment receipts are automatically sent to customers after a successful payment. This is enabled by default and we recommend keeping it on — receipts give customers confirmation that their payment has been received and reduce follow-up queries to your team.

When enabled, you can choose a template for both email and SMS receipts independently.

Email receipt template

Select the template used for email receipts sent after a successful payment. Leave on Default Template to use Prommt's standard receipt format, or choose a custom template if you have one configured.

SMS receipt template

Select the template used for SMS receipts sent after a successful payment. Leave on Default Template to use Prommt's standard receipt format, or choose a custom template if you have one configured.


💡 A note on templates

If you'd like to customise the content or design of your receipt templates, you can do this yourself via Message Templates in your Prommt dashboard. Once a custom template has been created there, it will appear as an option to select here.


💾 Saving your changes

Once you've made your updates, click Save Changes. To discard any unsaved changes, click Discard.


Troubleshooting

A customer says they didn't receive a receipt. First confirm that Enable Receipts is toggled on and changes have been saved. Then check the customer's email address and mobile number on the payment request are correct. If both look right, ask the customer to check their spam or junk folder for the email receipt.

We want to turn off SMS receipts but keep email receipts. Receipts are currently controlled by a single toggle — you can't disable one channel independently from within this settings page. Contact Prommt Support if you need channel-specific receipt configuration.
